Ten months into the Russia-Ukraine war: The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights this week revealed alarming data on the Ukrainian side of the war, indicating the severe blow that Ukraine suffered in the war that was imposed on it last February.

Before the data, since the Russian invasion on February 24, until December 26, at least 6,884 Ukrainian citizens were killed, of which 429 were children. The commissioner also revealed that the number of injured is about 10,947 civilians. In the last month, 516 civilians were injured and 165 killed, most of them as a result of “the use of explosive weapons that have effects over a wide area”.

The UN data is not complete and accurate, since a reliable and complete report has not yet arrived from many places regarding the condition of the injured and dead. In addition, there are cases in which civilians were injured and died but the Ukrainian authorities were not informed of this.
