Although it was all the rage at the time due to the changes that Elon Musk anticipated on Twitter and even sounded like the replacement for the erstwhile “birdie social network”, Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads seems to have been a flash in the pan.

According to data collected by the SimilarWeb portal, after a month the Threads application had a 79% drop in the number of daily active users, only on Android.

It is that in the midst of the madness for its launch it managed to hook 49.3 million Android users, but by August 7 it dropped to 10.3 million.

In the United States, for example, the number of people went from 2.3 million to 576,000 in just 40 days.

“I think that Threads came at a good time that it can be a channel for a younger user who may not be involved in Twitter and that they can understand, but the negative points are that they have invented a Twitter and that is not an invention , it’s a copy. I think it’s going to die,” Óscar Aguilera, StartGo CEO, said at the time.
