An illegal car repair business was also shut down
He had been repairing cars directly on the street, without any authorization. The man, a 56-year-old Senegalese, legally resident in the State, was caught by agents of the “Central” Police Station and the Highway Police while he was about to carry out some repairs on a car, parked on the street. The joint control service was ordered by the Police Chief of Catania following several reports from residents of the area between Via Di Prima and Via Sada.
Specifically, the citizens were referring to a real car repair business carried out by the Senegalese directly on the street, with the use of some professional keys, in a completely illegal manner. In fact, the police identified the man who, despite not having the work tools, had a car at his disposal, left parked by the owner in the public parking lot. In this way, the officers interrupted the business carried out without authorization and carried out a series of checks on the car which turned out to be without insurance coverage, which is why it was seized.
The police extended the checks to all the cars parked in the area, finding that two other cars did not have third party liability insurance coverage. Also in this case, the two cars were seized and the owners were notified of the relevant charges. Overall, fines of 2,500 euros were issued
