A 23-year-old Chinese man stabbed small children at a day care center in Zurich, city police said.
A man suddenly attacked the children with a blade,” said a police statement.
“Soon after 12:00pm (1000 GMT), Zurich city police were informed about a violent crime on Berninastrasse. Three children were injured,” a brief statement said.
“A suspect was arrested in connection with this crime, and there is no longer any danger to the public.”
“The seriously injured boy and two seriously injured boys, a 5-year-old boy, received first aid (…) before being taken to the hospital,” the police said. he added that the arrested man is a 23-year-old Chinese national.
The statement said the man “attacked several children”.
The incident took place in the north of the city.

Neither the circumstances, the identity of the alleged attacker nor the severity of the children’s injuries were immediately known. Police said more information will be released later.
