by time news

Ottawa | Three colleges in the Canadian province of Quebec have closed abruptly. With this, thousands of Indian students who lost money and education were in crisis. The Indian High Commission in Ottawa has come up with recommendations for Indian students.

M College in Montreal, CDE College in Sherbrooke and CCSQ College in Longwy were closed. All three colleges are run by a recruiting company called Rising Phoenix International (RPI). The company has filed for bankruptcy.

Students receive a notice that the colleges are closing after paying a short period of time for the tuition fee and receiving a large sum of money from the students. Within days, the money was seized and the colleges closed.

Canadian authorities have launched an investigation into several private colleges suspected of irregularities in the recruitment of students from India. That includes the two closed colleges.
