Four people were seriously injured in an attack with a knife that occurred today in a gym in the German city of Duisburgo (west of the country), police sources report on twitter.
According to those sources, the attack originated from at least one assailant, who apparently attacked several visitors to the fitness center with a sharp object, presumably a knife or machete.
The injured were transferred to a hospital in that Rhineland city, police sources continue, according to which three of them are in critical condition.
The first call for help came at around 5:40 p.m. local time (3:40 p.m. GMT), after which the police came to the premises which is located in the center of Duisburg, in the immediate vicinity of the town hall.
According to the tabloid newspaper “Bild”, the incident originated in the gym locker room and it is unknown how many people were actively involved in the attack.
