AOn Saturday evening (local time) in the US metropolis of Philadelphia, three people were killed by gunfire on the open road. Eleven other people were injured, police said. There were several shooters. The incident reportedly happened on a street known for its lively nightlife.
A total of 14 people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. Of them, two men and one woman were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. All three suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police officers reportedly shot one of the perpetrators. However, it was initially unclear whether this was hit. Two guns were also found at the South Street scene, police said. The investigation is in full swing and there are “a lot of unanswered questions”.
