The change made within the executive after that of some members of the government continues. The President of the Republic, Andry Rajoelina, made the decision to place personalities who were close to him in his staff. The report of the council of ministers held yesterday indicates of Patrick Rajoelina, Vahinala Baomiavotse Raharinirina and Tianarivelo Razafimahefa, all three former ministers are appointed as special advisers to President Rajoelina.
Patrick Rajoelina, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, sacked in October, and replaced by Richard Randriamandrato, the former Minister of Economy and Finance, has been appointed special adviser in charge of diplomacy and foreign cooperation. Vahinala Baomiavotse Raharinirina, former Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development and sacked last week from her position as Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency, has been appointed special adviser in charge of the economy and relations with the private sector.
Tianarivelo Razafimahefa, who formerly held the post of Minister of the Interior and Decentralization, has also been reinstated within the staff of the President of the Republic as a special adviser in charge of grassroots development. A new position which will certainly allow him to establish more relations with various associations and organizations and to better prepare with the team of the President of the Republic, the next presidential election, aimed at renewing the current Head of State to Iavoloha.
Another important appointment concerns in particular Espérance Pelandroy Arnaud, the secretary general of the presidency of the Republic who has just been appointed adviser at the level of the embassy of Madagascar in Paris, within the ministry of Foreign Affairs. A decision which should then solve the problem of the embassy with the adviser who especially aroused the controversy lately. This new appointment has enabled Claude Fanohiza to take over from Espérance Pelandroy within the presidency.
These multiple designations in the entourage of the President of the Republic mean that Andry Rajoelina’s team is being reconstituted on the eve of the presidential election. The old friends who have always been able to show loyalty and trust are recovered in order to accomplish specific and above all political missions to strengthen both the recovery of the economy and at the same time ensure the return of the current head of the State in power during the presidential election which will take place in about 9 months.
