Alappuzha: Three more persons are in custody in connection with the murder of SDPI leader KS Shan. Two Thrissur residents and one Aluva resident are in custody. All three are RSS supporters. It is concluded that the natives of Thrissur helped the accused to escape. The Aluva resident was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in the conspiracy.

Police said they were taken into custody on suspicion. Six days after the murder, police have not been able to nab a single suspect who was directly involved in the crime. Those who aided or abetted the killers have so far been arrested.

Mannancherry Ponnadu Kavachira Rajendra Prasad (39) and Ratheesh (Kuttan-31) were taken into custody in the case and taken to various places yesterday. Ambulance driver Cherthala Nikarthil Akhil, 30, who was arrested yesterday in the same case, will be produced in court today. The police had said that Akhil was instrumental in the murder of Shan and that it was Akhil who helped the killers to escape.

ADGP Vijay Sakhar had yesterday said that the killers of KS Shan and BJP leader Ranjit Sreenivas had left the state. The police have gone after them. There is a conspiracy of top leaders behind the incidents. It’s not one. All participants will be added to the respondent list. Vijay Sakhar said the accused may have received help from outside the state.

Defendants have no digital evidence left, making them difficult to locate. No mobile phone is used. Vijay Sakhar said that the accused in both the cases were fully identified from the CCTV footage.
