by times news cr

Through a joint action, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) arrested three Public Security directors from the municipalities of Aculco, Coatepec Harinas and Tlatlaya, for their alleged relationship with organized crime.

In addition, the arrest warrant against the Atlacomulco police chief, who is considered a fugitive from justice, remains pending, the agency reported in a statement.

According to the FGJEM report, the detainees are charged with the crimes of express kidnapping and extortion, within the framework of the investigations carried out for the disappearance of the Temascalcingo commissioner, Agustín N and one of his escorts, Juan Carlos N, whose official vehicle was found abandoned in Acambay.

As the investigations and interviews progressed, it was established that both Eulises N, commissioner of Acambay, and the now defunct Commissioner of Temascalcingo, Agustín N, participated in illegal activities by providing protection in the region to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel and that they previously did so for the antagonistic group La Familia Michoacana.

The detainees are accused of using their positions to facilitate and protect the operations of criminal groups in the region.

The accusations

The Prosecutor’s Office also obtained an arrest warrant against Luis Ángel N, director of Public Security of the municipality of Tlatlaya, for the crime of express kidnapping committed on August 21 against two people in the Puerto Frío area of the same municipality, a judicial order that was executed today.

In addition, the authorities established his close relationship with leaders of the criminal group with origins in Michoacán, particularly with José Alfredo Hurtado Olascoaga, alias “El Fresa”, with whom he frequently and ostensibly met, a subject who has a valid arrest warrant and the Prosecutor’s Office is offering a reward for his capture.

Regarding the commissioner of Coatepec Harinas, identified as Juan N, it was possible to establish his probable involvement in the criminal act of extortion committed against two merchants of that municipality, from whom he demanded various amounts of cash since July 19 in order not to cause them harm.

It should be noted that this subject is accused of having ties to the same criminal group with origins in Michoacán, to which the Commissioner of Tlatlaya belonged.

The Prosecutor’s Office also managed to establish the probable involvement of Justo N, Director of Public Security of the municipality of Atlacomulco, in extortion activities on behalf of the same criminal group. This subject has a valid arrest warrant.

The State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office continues with actions to locate Agustín N and Juan Carlos N, who remain victims of the crime of disappearance committed by private individuals.

All the detainees were admitted to the Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center of Tenango del Valle at the disposal of the Judicial Authority and must be considered innocent until a sentence of conviction is issued against them.
