A few days after Olaf Scholz’s visit to China, the German Police have arrested three people accused of sell military technology data to China. As reported in a note by the federal prosecutor’s office, the main accused is Thomas R., 59 years old and arrested in Bad Homburg. The individual would have contact with the Chinese spy agency MSS. The other two detainees are a couple from Düsseldorf, Herwig and Ina F., aged 72 and 58 and owners of a company.

According to the prosecutor’s investigations, Thomas R. would have contact with a Chinese secret service worker to which he would have provided “innovative technologies” with military application. Meanwhile, the couple would have used their company to obtain information from German researchers that would later have been supplied to China.

The sensitive information that could have been transmitted to China would be related, according to The mirror, with naval machinery, specifically with warship engines. Meanwhile, the person arrested in Bad Homburg would have acquired a laser on behalf of the secret services to take to China.

The three alleged spies are accused of espionage for a foreign power and violation of the export law.
