Radev may also prefer a woman – Gorica Grancharova, but on Wednesday it is possible that a new name will appear if 80 votes are collected for the head of the parliament, who will quickly enter the Council of Ministers

Whoever is the acting prime minister – a big dawn in the country around this post!

So far, three have given their consent if Rumen Radev chooses them from the “short list” left by the parliament. “Yes” from the incumbent Dimitar Glavchev and almost “yes” from the Deputy Governor of the BNB Petar Chobanov and from the Deputy Head of the Audit Chamber Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva.

However, the PP-DB was frantically searching all day on Tuesday for the fastest way to remove Raya Nazaryan as the Speaker of the 50th National Assembly, to elect a new one who will enjoy the post for hours, and after Friday to enter the Council of Ministers with a decree of Rumen Radev.

At the end of March, when the government was being formed again, the president invited the candidates for prime minister privately to “Dondukov” 2 and the media were notified, but now apparently the process is taking place over the phone.

After the Constitutional Court left the constitutional change in force, there are 7 possible candidate prime ministers – the speaker of the parliament Nazaryan, the governor of the BNB Dimitar Radev and his two deputies Petar Chobanov and Radoslav Milenkov, the head of the Audit Chamber Dimitar Glavchev and his deputies Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva and Toshko Todorov.

Petar Chobanov gave the first sign that he could accept. The former DPS MP confirmed that Radev was looking for him.

This is not a priority in my career development, but there are certain scenarios where I would consider the offer. If I find that exotics appear that threaten financial stability, fiscal stability and Bulgaria’s path to the Eurozone, threaten the country, then I would accept, he explained. Otherwise, he was firm in March – his work at the BNB is important for the adoption of the euro and it is good to keep the team that works for this.

The Deputy Head of the Audit Office, Gorica Grancharova, who refused the previous time, seems to have received an invitation, which she is now inclined to accept. However, the PP-DB did not approve of it, that is why they introduced a project for the deputy heads of the chamber, whose mandate has already expired, to be replaced by the parliament, and not by its chairman, i.e. Glavchev.

That is why the scenario for overthrowing the head of parliament Nazaryan was greatly accelerated. On Monday, she officially refused to be acting prime minister in a short meeting with Radev.

On Tuesday, three names appeared for her successors, discussed by PP-DB, BSP and ITN – Ivan Ivanov from BSP and Alexander Alexandrov and Silvi Kirilov from ITN. The idea was to choose a person whom Radev liked as acting prime minister. In return, Glavchev’s successor had to change the official ministers, with finance and defense going to the PP-DB and Asen Vassilev returning to his ministerial post, and Ivan Demerdzhiev being the head of the Ministry of the Interior. It was heard late on Tuesday that neither Ivanov, nor Aleksandrov, nor Kirilov were any longer current.

In the end, last night the PP-DB group left for Wednesday morning the search for 80 votes, with which the rules of the parliament allow an item on the agenda for the removal of Speaker Nazaryan. The problem – to the proposal of PP-DB ITN and “Vazrazhdane” replied that they will not sign, but if the point enters the hall, they will vote. Such a position embarrassed the BSP, from where they explained that if the deputies of Kostadin Kostadinov and Slavi Trifonov do not sign, they will not sign either.

For now, the PP-DB has, in addition to its own 39 deputies, and the support of the independents from DPS-Dogan – 23 and the 7 breakaways from Markov’s “Majesty”, or a total of 69 votes.

If the point passes, the parliament must vote on Nazarian’s ouster on Thursday. And it can pass with the votes of PP-DB, BSP, ITN, DPS-Dogan and “Vazrazhdane” – a total of 134.

It is not yet clear when the president will convene the political forces for consultations on the date of the elections. The previous time, he first obtained the consent of Dimitar Glavchev for acting prime minister and did so together with him. According to reliable sources, the public confirmation of Petar Chobanov and Gorica Grancharova that they are willing to accept the post and that they have already spoken with the president has slightly unnerved Radev’s administration. The reason is that “Dondukov” 2 also expects the development of the situation in the parliament.
