A strong accident registered on Sunday night on the Torreón – Matamoros highway claimed the lives of three women, the vehicle they were traveling in ended up destroyed.
The accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on the aforementioned road just up from a well-known water park formerly called Wet Laguna where a pedestrian bridge is located.
The authorities’ report indicates that the now deceased were traveling aboard a white Nissan Versa line vehicle, model 2003, headed from Matamoros to Torreón and upon reaching the water park whoever was driving lost control and it hit squarely against the base of the pedestrian bridge and then turned, ending up with the vehicle completely destroyed and in the opposite lanes.
Witnesses to the accident requested help from the 911 emergency line, so elements of the Fire Department, the Civil Protection, Traffic unit and paramedics from the Red Cross came to the scene, who located the three women inside the car, one of them they still with vital signs, however when carrying out the extraction maneuvers he died.
The area was guarded by security authorities who expanded the perimeter approximately 50 meters to where the vehicle’s engine ended.
The relatives of the deceased arrived at the scene and recognized two of the deceased, one of whom was alive by the name of Estrella Eunice López Vela, 26 years old; another was recognized by the name of Laura Madai Ríos García residing in the city of Nazas de Torreón, while the third victim of the accident was identified as 25-year-old Angie.
Personnel from the expert services unit accompanied by the investigating agent of the Public Ministry collected the necessary evidence and ordered the transfer of the bodies to the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for the practice of the rigorous necropsy, for which they requested the support of the fire brigade that carried out the necessary maneuvers to extract the bodies from among the twisted irons of the car.
It is expected that in the next few hours the third victim has been identified and the bodies delivered to the relatives for the corresponding funeral services.
