If the department announces having completed 95% of the infrastructure and 100% of the roads in Roya, things are stuck on the other hand in Vésubie with the last projects in the metropolis, against a backdrop of political rivalry in Nice between the deputy and departmental councilor Éric Ciotti (LR ) and the president of this metropolis Christian Estrosi (Horizons).
In a recent letter, also sent to Élisabeth Borne and the prefect, the first criticizes the second for being “very far from having completed the essential security and rehabilitation work in our villages”. The fault, he insinuates, is “the degraded situation of metropolitan finances”. “Inertia is no longer acceptable”, writes the elected official who details a “non-exhaustive list” of “urgent operations” to be carried out, in particular bridges, access to neighborhoods, permanent roads, railway stations. purification or bank protection.
Estrosi defends himself and denounces “the resurgence of the bureaucratic state”
Implicated, the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis claims to have injected 210 million euros, including 155 for roads and structures. The delay in the home stretch has a culprit, defends Christian Estrosi: “The resurgence of the bureaucratic State, chained in a mass of standards” which lengthens all procedures. To this, he assures, are added delays linked to a judicial investigation into public contracts awarded for reconstruction work.
At the start of the week, this same metropolis released 80 million euros. Christian Estrosi also calls on the State to help: “I am asking for the establishment of a “Saint-Martin-Vésubie plan”, says the elected official, with the establishment of suitable procedures (…) We cannot cope to a meteorological war with the laws of peacetime. “.
In the meantime, several tribute ceremonies will take place this Monday, October 2 in memory of the 18 victims.
