This Monday, three young people from Évry-Courcouronnes who appeared in a narcotics case should have been tried by the criminal court. Because of the late hour, the three defendants aged around 20 preferred to ask for a delay to prepare their defence. They have been placed under judicial supervision pending their trial scheduled for May 10.
The investigation began on May 25, when police officers from the Evry-Corbeil urban area spotted, on rue Honoré d’Estienne d’Orves in Évry-Courcouronnes, a car whose license plates were fixed with screws and not rivets, as required by law. At the sight of the police, the two occupants immediately fled, abandoning their vehicle. The driver tries to hide in the bushes but he is arrested rue des Mazières. The passenger manages to escape.
10.4 kg of cannabis discovered in a car
On board the abandoned vehicle, the police discovered 10.4 kg of cannabis resin packaged in several bundles wrapped in adhesive. Tried two days later by the criminal court of Évry, the 22-year-old driver was sentenced to 10 months in prison without a warrant.
The story could have ended there but on July 8, during a control operation in the common areas of a building in the Bois sauvage district, still in Évry-Courcouronnes, a dog specially trained for the discovery of narcotics mark in front of a box. Inside, 2 kg of cannabis are seized.
“At this stage, we had two separate files,” says a police source. And at the same time, we noticed that a deal point on rue Emile-Roux was growing. It was therefore decided to carry out monitoring and investigations. It is this work that resulted in four arrests last Wednesday. Among those arrested are the man on the run since May and a family member who owns the box.
During the searches, the police did not find cannabis resin but a total of 3,400 euros in cash. A hundred 9 mm and 22 long rifle cartridges were also discovered in another. A separate procedure has been decided against him.
