On Saturday 27/4/2024 at 20:00 at the Municipal Theater of Rhodes, a music-poetry performance will take place on the theme of the lamentation of the Virgin Mary for her dead child. From the “Lamentation Epitaph” to the “Mother of Christ” by Varnalis and the “Epitaph” of Ritsos… through the shocking poems that become psalms, obituaries and songs, the deep feelings of the people and especially of the grieving mother are captured.
Echoing perfectly the climate of the Holy Week that will follow, but also the way that the religious style changes and gradually leads us to the climax of the Divine drama, the mother’s lament is as relevant as ever!
