In a speech for the occasion, Ms. Otmani highlighted the progress made by Morocco during the 25 years of reign of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in the areas of good governance, democracy, the rule of law, social justice and inclusive economy.
The ambassador also welcomed the celebration this year of 62 years of diplomatic relations and cooperation between Morocco and Canada, recalling the importance attached by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty the King to building a lasting and multidimensional partnership in the service of the two peoples, as well as peace and development.
The Mayor of Ottawa, for his part, on behalf of the city and Ottawans, extended his warm congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people on this happy occasion.
Mr. Sutcliff highlighted the good relations between the two countries as well as the role and positive socio-economic contribution of the Moroccan community to Canadian society and the city of Ottawa.
According to a statement from the diplomatic representation of the Kingdom, this ceremony took place in the presence of members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Canadian capital, as well as representatives of the Moroccan community of Ottawa-Gatineau.
