Thus, the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the Marrakech prefecture, Karim Kassi-Lahlou, proceeded with the inauguration of the semi-Olympic swimming pool “Charaf” in the district of Marrakech-Gueliz, a project which strengthens the sports facilities of the city, facilitates access to the sport of swimming in order to contribute to the promotion of this discipline and the broadening of the base of its practitioners, and provides sports associations with an appropriate infrastructure.

Carried out as part of the “Marrakech, City of Renewal” program on a total surface area of ​​5,500 m2, including 2,850 m2 covered, for an estimated cost of 18.079 MDH, this project is the result of a partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports (financing, equipment and management) and the municipality of Marrakech (mobilization of the land base).

This project, aimed at different categories of society (children, young people, adults, men and women), sports associations, public administrations, companies, private establishments and people with specific needs, includes a 6-lane swimming pool, administrative offices, meeting rooms, treatment rooms, weight training and surveillance rooms, changing rooms, a technical room, a canteen and terraces.

At the same site, explanations were presented to the wali and the delegation accompanying him on a similar project concerning the creation of a semi-Olympic swimming pool in Azzouzia, in the district of Marrakech-Menara, also carried out within the framework of the “City of Renewal” program, on an area of ​​6,200 m2, for an investment of around 17.679 MDH.

In a statement to MAP on this occasion, the chairman of the board of directors of the National Company for the Construction and Management of Sports Equipment, Youssef Belkacemi explained that this project relates to sports facilities which the company is responsible for managing within the framework of the agreement signed with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and which covers 38 infrastructures.

In the commune of Manbha, Mr. Kassi-Lahlou launched the construction work on a qualifying high school which includes 25 classrooms, six administrative offices, three sports fields and several toilet blocks.

This new establishment, the construction of which will take 12 months, should accommodate around 486 students (girls and boys) in the common core, 228 learners in the first year of the baccalaureate and 199 students in the second year of the baccalaureate.

For the provincial director of national education, preschool and sports, Moha Aït Mallouk, this project, which is part of the program to reduce social and territorial disparities in rural areas, will contribute to the fight against increasing school dropout in this area which has only one college which also has a high school annex.

At the level of the commune of Ouahat Sidi Brahim, the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region launched the work of doubling the provincial road n°2118 connecting between the national road n°8 (center of Talouh) and the national road n°9 over a distance of 9.7 km, for an estimated budget of 14.84 million DH, divided into two tranches, including 9.7 MDH devoted to the first phase of the project.

Funded by the Ministry of Equipment and Water (38%) and the prefecture of Marrakech (62%), this project, whose number of beneficiaries amounts to 25,300 inhabitants, aims to strengthen road safety, improve traffic flow and strengthen socio-economic and tourist dynamics in the region.

Finally, in the commune of Sidi Zouine, the work of widening and strengthening provincial road No. 2011 over a distance of 14.2 km was launched, for an investment of around 30.7 MDH provided by the Rural Development Fund.

This project, which is part of the program to reduce social and territorial disparities in rural areas, will benefit a population estimated at 16,181 inhabitants and will thus contribute to strengthening road safety, improving traffic flow and socio-economic and tourist development in this part of the national territory, as well as strengthening the link between the two municipalities of Sidi Zouine and Ouled Dlim.
