Through Coral Reef Ecosystem Improvement, PLN IP Brings Positive Impacts to the Community

jpnn.comLOMBOK – PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP) continues to realize its commitment to maintaining business processes with the concept of Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG).

One of them is from the PLN IP Jeranjang Generation Business Unit (UBP) program which is carrying out restoration actions for damaged coral reefs in the Pandanan Marine Park, North Lombok, NTB by involving the local community.

PLN Indonesia Power President Director Edwin Nugraha Putra said that Pandanan Marine Park is one of the locations fostered by PLN IP UBP Jeranjang in implementing the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program carried out around the power plant area.

The method is to repair damage to coral reefs caused by fishing practices using coral reef-breaking bombs, as well as organizing the tourism sector in the area.

“PLN IP UBP Jeranjang has the Pandanan Marine Techno Park Program, from this program we have done a lot starting from improving the marine ecosystem, especially coral reefs, to managing tourism service providers,” said Edwin.

Edwin said that in carrying out the Pandanan Marine Park improvement program, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Jeranjang collaborated with the Pandanan Community Monitoring Group (POKMASWAS).

The activities carried out include the Blue Reef Revival, which includes the creation of coral seed gardens, coral transplantation, research and development, the creation of coral transplantation media and coral reef maintenance.

In addition, there are also Blue Economy Pandanan activities, these activities include the provision of materials and infrastructure to support tourism, promotion of tourism packages and increasing the capacity of community roles.

In carrying out the Pandanan Marine Park improvement program, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Jeranjang collaborates with the Pandanan Community Monitoring Group (POKMASWAS).
