jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) emphasized its commitment to combating online gambling (judol) activities, which are increasingly widespread in the era of digital transformation.

Deputy Minister of Communications Nezar Patria said that judol activity is a common enemy and must be eradicated from its roots.

Nezar also conveyed surprising facts about the judol phenomenon that must be fought.

“Currently, there are four million internet users in Indonesia who play judol every day, including 80 thousand of whom are children,” said Nezar when attending the Komdigi 5K Fun Run event in the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) area, Jakarta , Sunday (29/12).

Moreover, the transaction value of judol activities has reached a fantastic figure, namely almost IDR 900 trillion based on data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

Until December 2024, Kemkomdigi has released more than 5.5 million content.

“Imagine, that amount of money could have been used for things that were more productive and beneficial to the people. “However, the money was sucked into a game that was detrimental,” he stressed.

Therefore, Nezar emphasized the importance of collaboration between society and the government in fighting judol practices and activities.

With concrete steps such as the Komdigi 5K Fun Run, Kemkomdigi hopes to spread a strong message: online gambling is not just a game.
