Thunderbolts Unveils Intriguing New Characters and Dynamic Backstories in Latest Trailer

by time news

In Thunderbolts, Ghost has a new suit that allows her to control the power that almost killed her and destroyed the world, in the Ant-Man movie.

Bucky Barnes

Sebastian Stan returns as Bucky, better known as The Winter Soldier. Bucky was Steve Rogers’ friend who becomes a villain after being part of a secret HYDRA program, and gradually manages to break that influence and start thinking for himself and fighting for good.

As we see in the series alongside Falcon, Bucky has not been able to escape his past and is determined to do everything he can to try to redeem himself and correct all the harm he has done during his life.

U.S. Agent

The character of Wyatt Russell was introduced during the Falcon and Winter Soldier series, where we saw him as a soldier who takes the same serum that was given to Steve to become Cap, and transforms into a new hero who must fill the void left by Steve’s disappearance.

U.S. Agent answered to the government but ends up losing control and causing more damage and destruction than he himself expected, so now he needs a purpose and a mission.

Taskmaster

Olga Kurylenko appeared as Taskmaster in the Black Widow movie, where she was revealed as a masked villain against whom Natasha, Yelena, and the rest of her family had to fight.

She was also part of a supersoldier program and, in the end, receives the opportunity to change her life and seek her own path, which is probably what put her on Valentina’s map.

Who is Bob in Thunderbolts?

In addition to the characters we already knew from other MCU movies and series, the Thunderbolts trailer also features a character named Bob, played by Lewis Pullman. According to Collider, Bob is actually Robert Reynolds, who in the comics becomes known as a superhero called Sentry.

Sentry is an imperfect and reluctant superpowered being. Struggling with addiction, he obtained his powers by accident, confusing a replica of the Super Soldier serum with drugs. The serum gave him ‘the power of a thousand exploding suns.’ Although Sentry has been officially printed for 24 years, the first run by creator Paul Jenkins with the character places him on Earth-616, long before the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Spider-Man made their debut,” says Collider.

Sentry’s story intersects with characters like Reed Richards, Hulk, and Peter Parker (we might see him again in the new Spider-Man movie), but after battling a brutal and lethal villain called The Void, it is revealed that the villain is Bob himself, and to prevent further harm, he asks Dr. Strange and Reed to erase all memories of him from humanity’s memory.
