Meteo France thus placed 9 departments in the south-west of the country on “storm” alert. These are Gironde, Dordogne, Lot, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Gers, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées.

These storms will sometimes be strong, with a risk of small to medium hail and wind gusts between 60 and 80 km/h, warns Météo France. The average temperature assessed in 30 cities in France will exceed 23 ° C on Monday (i.e. 5.2 ° C more than normal for the season), according to the Weather Channel.

Thunderstorms expected in the north of the country

At the end of the afternoon and in the evening, these storms will cross the Centre-Val de Loire then the Paris basin and reach the north of the country. A risk of isolated thunderstorms will also continue further west, from Aquitaine to Brittany and Normandy.

The maximum temperatures, still hot, will range between 23 and 28 degrees in the regions bordering the Channel and the Pays de la Loire, and between 29 and 34 degrees elsewhere.
