Kallakurichi, Dec. 1: On behalf of Thyagathurugam Bharatiyar Tamil Sangam, the five grand function of the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Kalaivan NSK, Uvamai poet Suratha and the 179th lecture of the Sangam was held on Wednesday.
Tamil Sangha leader I.Duraimurugan presided. Sankarapuram Tamil Creative Association President C. Ilayapillai, Thanamoorthy Vocational School President Neetha Pahalanivel, Sankarapuram Jai Brothers Kabadi Association President V. Vijayakumar were present. Senior Tamil scholar Durai Ramakrishnan welcomed.
Regarding Tamil scholars and leaders, M. G. Raja, District Treasurer of World Tamil Poets Council, Nedumanoor Bharathiarch Tamil Sangh President I. Kathivel, Master Teacher A. Tamilarasi, Kulathur Tamil Sangh President Bulav P. Govindan etc. gave special talks on various topics.

The District Poet Council President Ashukavi Aravamuthan felicitated the school students who won merit in the speech competitions by giving books, pens, notes and certificates to develop their intellectual skills.
