More than two years after its inauguration, the Chinese state revealed the first full photo of its Tiangong space station, “Heavenly Palace”, the only one currently in orbit with the International Space Station (ISS), the collaboration project between Europe, United States, Russia, Japan and Canada.
The photo was taken by the Shenzhou spacecraft, on its return to Earth after dropping off the new crew of three. Tiangong is fully operational after its third and final module docked last year. The two outer ones are laboratories, while the central one houses the astronauts’ rooms and a docking basin.
