Blue and white podium. The windsurfing competition in Lanzarote ended today (Friday) with results that could hardly have been seen in the past, when no less than three Israeli representatives finished the competition in the first three places.

One of the first competitions of the season took place in Lanzarote and Shahar Tzuberi’s team is starring in a big way. After the medal races, Shahar Tibi finished with the gold medal, Sharon Kantor with the silver medal and Maya Morris with the bronze.

In addition, Kati Spichkov finished the competition in fifth place. At the end of the decisive cruise, by the way, Spichkov filed an appeal because she claimed that the time limits of the slalom were exceeded, which would have placed her in third place – but the appeal was not accepted.

In any case, this is an achievement not seen in Israeli sailing – a podium full of windsurfers from Israel in one of the first competitions of the season, which places Shahar Zubri’s team as one of the best in the world.

Cumulative He said after the achievement: “We went through a long month of training with two big and high-quality competitions. Every time our surfers set a new and higher bar. There is a very tough and tight competition in the team, but everyone does what they have to do, focuses on themselves and brings their best. We are very happy that the hard work is paying off. The goal competitions are still ahead of us.”

Chairman of the Sailing Association Shay Bover He added: “We painted the Canary Islands blue and white. Another excellent competition by the women’s team of Shahar Zubri in two weeks, this time with a full podium of Tibi, Kantor and Morris. The season has just started and we are proud of the team and its results. I congratulate the surfers and the professional teams. Well done”.
