by time news

Demining operation for the boss of the Olympic Games in France. The president of the Paris 2024 organizing committee (Cojo), Tony Estanguet, came to explain himself Thursday morning on the set of BFM TV on the criticisms around the sale of tickets for the event which started online , after drawing lots and via a system of packs, on February 15. Since then, many potential buyers have complained about the price of tickets and the unavailability, too fast for their taste, of the most popular sports at the Games.

“I understand the criticism, I’m sorry that there are disappointed. There are tens of thousands of people who have been lucky enough to be drawn, and who have made their dream program for the Olympic Games”, explained the President of the Cojo, stressing that there was “all the same a million” tickets at 24 euros, the lowest price, among the three million put on sale during this first phase of sales.

15 exhausted sports

“In one week, 15 sports are already sold out on this first phase of sales,” continues the three-time Olympic canoe champion. We have judo, fencing, BMX, rock climbing, breaking (breakdance) the new discipline… There are still places for athletics, but it’s going very strong. There are still around thirty disciplines on sale in this first phase, with places at 24 euros. Not in athletics, but in rugby, football, sailing, golf, there are places left at 24 euros. »

“In major sports, such as handball and volleyball, there are still places at 50 euros, supports Tony Estanguet. You can go see a match of the French football team with Kylian Mbappé at 30 euros in Marseille (the schedule of the Blues is not yet known). »

The first phase of sales by packs must be completed, at the latest, on March 15. From this date, it will be possible to register for the single ticket sales phase which opens in May. Seven million tickets will then be made available to buyers, covering all sessions.
