Tickets for video game competitions: e-sport big winner in the VAT battle

E-sport is on the rise. As proof, Emmanuel Macron’s last message this Sunday during the closing of Paris Games Week. The Head of State recalled in a short video the importance of this sector which represents 5.5 billion euros in turnover in France in 2022, more than cinema and music combined. In this context, the reduction in VAT to 5.5% on tickets for video game competitions will apply from January 1.
