This meeting, in which the secretary general, the central directors as well as central managers took part, was dedicated to the evaluation of the results of the work in the different areas of management of penitentiary institutions and to the examination of certain constraints which hinder the optimal operationalization of reform projects, indicates the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) in a press release.
The meeting was also an opportunity to meet with the directors of penitentiary institutions and central officials, to discuss the various issues and examine the means to deal with them, in order to establish an action plan and measures. planned for the year 2024, the press release said.
On this occasion, Mr. Tamek praised the achievements accomplished during the current year, as well as the spirit of responsibility and discipline demonstrated by all managers and civil servants in the accomplishment of their professional missions, welcoming also the great efforts made by the men and women working in this sector to preserve the security of penitentiary institutions and the qualification of prisoners for their reintegration, as well as the guarantee of their rights, despite the difficulties and constraints that arise.
He also stressed the need to continue efforts and work to improve communication, cooperation and constructive responsiveness with the various governmental and non-governmental authorities and departments, in relation to the penitentiary field.
The General Delegate for Prison Administration and Reintegration also insisted on the imperative to pay the necessary attention to the affairs of civil servants, and to devote seriousness to work and good governance, while committing to imposing rigor and discipline in the fight against all practices which go against the legal and organizational rules in force, with the aim of improving the situations of penitentiary institutions.
