He recently had a serious car accident in which he was seriously injured in his right leg. Today (Tuesday) Woods was interviewed by Golf Digest after a long silence since the February accident.
Woods The 45-year-old commented on his future and said he would not return to the golf column, the PGA: “I think I can play in the column again, but never full time. I will play in some competitions, if I am fast enough. I think that is the way I will play. That is it. It is a difficult reality, but it is my reality and I understand it. ” Woods has won 82 different competitions in the round, an all-time record.
Woods spoke of rehabilitation: “There was a real fear I would lose a leg. After injuring my back in the past I felt like I had to climb Everest one more time, and I did it (metaphorically). I can still play golf, if my leg is fine, in a tournament here or there. “I do not think I can climb again to the top of the mountain, to the top of golf. I do not have to compete against the best in the world to find interest in life.”
The American golfer is considered one of the greatest of all time and has undergone a lengthy rehabilitation in the nine months since the accident. During his career he has won 6 Masters and 4 times at the PGA, a long career that began in 1997 and continues to this day. It was ranked number one in the world for a total of 683 weeks, more than 13 years.
