Muscat: The Ministry of Labor in Oman has intensified its efforts to crack down on illegal workers in the country. Inspections have been taking place since January 1 in various governorates, including Muscat, with the aim of identifying and apprehending undocumented workers.
A recent operation in Barka, South Bathina Governorate, led to the arrest of 66 illegal workers. These inspections are being carried out in collaboration with the Directorate General of Labor Welfare, as part of a larger effort to control the labor sector and exclude illegal workers from the workforce.
The first phase of the inspection is focused on densely populated areas in the governorates of Muscat, Dhofar, and Bathina, which have a high concentration of expatriates.
