Additionally, the platform has announced that it will begin to introduce the option to create and share custom ‘stickers’.

TikTok, the popular short video social network originating from China, has launched a new update designed to improve the experience of its users: group chats of up to 32 people can now be created and custom ‘stickers’ can be shared.

With these new features, the platform aims to provide spaces where users can discover fresh content and enjoy more interactive entertainment.

“Watch, comment, and react in real-time, making every interaction more dynamic and connected. People can create dedicated groups with up to 32 participants through group chats and easily share their favorite videos,” TikTok highlighted.

Furthermore, the platform specified that users aged 13 to 15 will not be able to participate in group chats in any way. For teens aged 16 and 17, participation will be possible, but with certain restrictions. For example, if an older teen receives an invitation to join a chat, the group must include at least one mutual friend, and the user themselves will decide whether they want to join the group chat, as long as they meet the requirements.

How to create a group chat

  2. Tap the Chat button at the top. You can also tap a name from the Messages list to go to the chat and tap the More options… button at the top.
