TikTok has officially announced ‘Series’, exclusive paid content

by time news

As expected, TikTok has officially announced ‘Series’, a program that allows selected content creators to upload videos up to 20 minutes long to paying subscribers only. Each series can include up to 80 videos, with subscription fees set by the content creators, starting from a single dollar and up to 190 dollars.

To date, TikTok has allowed content creators to upload videos of up to ten minutes in length only, so the company’s intention is definitely to brand the paid premium content as longer and of higher quality. As for the distribution of profits, Tiktok promises that until further notice it will not take any of the content creators’ income, and will only charge a minimal fee for processing the transaction. It is not clear when this policy will change, and what percentage of the creators’ profits Tiktok will choose to collect at that time.

The possibility of creating paid series is currently limited to selected content creators whom TikTok has marked as having great potential for success, but the intention is of course to expand the service in the future to all creators.

Finally, Tiktok makes it clear that the premium content will not allow content creators to bypass the existing restrictions, and the same rules regarding permitted content will also apply to paid content creators.
