According to a press release, Tiktok’s sponsorship will first be expressed on the social network: “ONE ZERO league teams together with the administration will regularly operate a Tiktok account (about 15 accounts), produce and upload exclusive content, collaborations with influencers, live broadcasts behind the scenes and more.” It is also written that the deal will include signage on the fields and sponsorship on the players’ vests during the warm-up and during the ball.

One of the hottest topics in Israel on social media is sports. According to Tiktok, there are approximately 70 million views on the #League hashtag, almost half a billion views on the #football hashtag, which includes content in the Hebrew language, the #Sport tag has 131 million views, and #SportTalk has 31 million views. The tag of the administration also receives many views – #منهلتاحليقوتبفوسول has 1.5 million views on the Tiktok social network.

The director of Tiktok’s content operations in Israel, Aviad Rosenbaum, emphasizes the data: “Sports is an extremely important area for Tiktok, with billions of views around the world. Now, for the first time, Israeli football fans will be given a glimpse behind the scenes and at rare moments in the lives of the athletes.”

The chairman of the administration of the leagues, Erez Kalfon, said in a statement that “TikTok’s joining the sponsors of professional soccer is another sign of the success of the strategy that has been implemented in the digital activities of the administration and the teams in recent years, and whose goal is to make Israeli soccer dominant and influential.” According to him, TikTok will help for them to increase the number of fans who come to the stadiums, watch the games and follow the administration and the league teams.

This is not the first time Tiktok has invested in international sports or in Israel. The entertainment platform has sponsorships around the world: among other things – in the past TikTok officially sponsored the Euro 2020 games, so it was the first time that a digital entertainment platform sponsored a major international tournament, according to UEFA’s statement. TikTok then announced that it would also sponsor the Euro 2022 women’s games. In addition, Tiktok announced another sponsorship for the organization of Israeli soccer players. So the social network announced that it would assist and promote the organization’s Tiktok accounts and train the actors to use Tiktok. Now, for the first time, TikTok Israel will invest in a league here in the country.
