For months, Til Schweiger has been attracting attention with his worrying health condition. His doctor suggests that this could continue for several years.

At least that is what Dr. Miriam Rehbein, Til Schweiger’s doctor, claims. “Unfortunately, I know a lot of patients whose leg ulcers can take up to five, six, seven years to heal. Sometimes it is not possible to close the area properly, and then replacement skin is put on it,” the dermatologist told the “Bild” newspaper.

She could not give any specific details about Til Schweiger’s case due to medical confidentiality, but hinted: “We know what Til Schweiger’s basic problem is – his ‘open leg’. I can say this from experience: an open leg is not something that can be treated within a week or two.”

Many patients are unlucky enough to get “a stupid bacterium” that doesn’t respond well to antibiotics. “Unfortunately, there are more and more multi-resistant bacteria because so many people are so naive when it comes to taking antibiotics. And doctors do the same when they keep prescribing antibiotics,” explains the 40-year-old.

Til Schweiger became successful as an actor in the 1990s, even appearing in Hollywood productions such as “Inglourious Basterds”. He also enjoyed great success as a director and producer. In recent years, however, Schweiger has repeatedly made negative headlines. Among other things, his behavior on set and his alcohol consumption were topics of discussion.
