Several cars, in one of which the candidate for vice president of the Democratic Party, Tim Walz, was traveling, crashed in the American city of Milwaukee, the BBC reported, quoted by bTV.

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz as her running mate in early August, and on August 22, he was officially selected.

The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. local time on September 2. The cars struck were at the rear of the motorcade and were carrying members of the press who were traveling with Waltz.

One person was injured. It’s unclear what caused the crash, which happened on Interstate 794.

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris called Walz to check on him. The Minnesota governor said he also received a call from US President Joe Biden.

One of the reporters traveling with Walz said the man injured in the crash had a broken arm and was being treated.

The affected vehicles were pulled to the side of the road as Walz proceeded to his scheduled appearance.

The vice presidential candidate recounted the incident in remarks at a Labor Day event in Milwaukee shortly after the crash.
