Tina Knowles Defends Beyoncé Against Critics of Her Complexion and Styling at Renaissance World Tour Premiere

After social media users criticized Beyoncé’s complexion and styling at the premiere of her Renaissance World Tour concert film, Tina Knowles, mother of the Grammy-winning singer, had strong words for the critics. Knowles, 69, shared a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday calling out those who accused her daughter, 42, of “lightening her skin.” The post was accompanied by a video of Beyoncé throughout the years, emphasizing the singer’s natural complexion.

In her Instagram post, Knowles condemned those who entertained a “stupid narrative with hate and jealousy” and emphasized the fashion statement Beyoncé was making with her silver-themed attire at the premiere. The singer wore a custom silver chainmail gown by Versace, accessorized with silver opera gloves and matching heeled sandals, and styled her hair in long platinum blonde locks.

Knowles also alleged that a white woman from TMZ had reached out to one of Beyoncé’s hairstylists to get a statement regarding the situation, leading Knowles to express frustration with people “attacking” her daughter. Her post was met with massive support, with celebrities such as Octavia Spencer and Cynthia Erivo praising Knowles for standing up for her daughter and promoting positivity.

In a show of support for her grandmother, Knowles’ grandson, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr., also commented on the post, expressing his approval.

Knowles’ message serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of negative commentary on social media and the importance of standing up against baseless criticism.
