“Rock grandma” Tina Turner (†83) was ill for a long time, but no one probably thought that her condition could be so serious. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us, and many celebrities are already sending her sad messages to heaven.
“Rest in peace. My condolences to Erwin and Tina’s family. I will forever be grateful for the time we spent together on tour, in the studio, and as friends. Thank you for being an inspiration to millions of people around the world, for speaking the truth and giving us your voice. It’s just love and that’s all. ❤️,” singer-songwriter Bryan Adams wrote on social media, alluding to Tina’s well-known song in the last sentence It”s Only Love.
Singer Sir Rod Stewart also shared a joint photo. “I am devastated, what a woman! Friend, mentor…” And he also incorporated a song into the last line, namely It Takes Two, which means something like “it takes two”.
“But there was only one Tina Turner,” he added sadly.
Oscar nominee Diane Warren, who collaborated on Turner’s 1986 track ‘Don’t Turn Around’, also took to Twitter to comment on the singer’s life and career.
“Warrior, badass. Every note she sang shook the room and shook your soul. There will never be another like her. Shake the roof of the heavens,” described Tina.
The presenter Oprah Winfrey also published touching words.
“I started out as a fan of Tina Turner, then I became an enthusiastic groupie, watching her perform all over the country, and eventually we became real friends. She is our eternal rock ‘n’ roll goddess who was strong on the inside, and that strength grew throughout her life. She was a role model not only for me, but for the whole world. She supported a part of my soul that I didn’t know existed.
“Once she achieved freedom after years of domestic violence, her life became a cry for triumph. I’m grateful for her courage to show us what victory looks like while wearing Manolo Blahnik shoes and a leather mini skirt. She once shared with me that she will not be afraid when her time comes to leave this country, but she will be excited and curious. Because she learned to LIVE surrounded by her beloved husband Erwin and friends. I am a better woman, a better person because her life affected mine. She was truly just the best,” wrote Oprah, sharing photos together.
But she also remembered their joint performance. “I had the opportunity to join Tina on stage during her ‘Wildest Dreams’ tour, and I got a taste of her magical world. I was so nervous that my knees were literally knocking. Dancing with her on stage in Los Angeles was the funnest memory, even though it took me out of my comfort zone. “Tina lived outside of normal boundaries and encouraged me and every woman to do the same,” added the legendary Oprah.
“We have lost one of the most exciting and energetic singers. A total legend both on recordings and on stage. She was untouchable. Condolences to Erwin and her family. The saddest news,” said Elton John.
“Truly a pioneer of rock & roll, powerful both in voice and personality ♥️,” wrote actor, comedian and musician Tommy Chong on Twitter.
Mariah Carey also gave beautiful words to her colleague. “The words legendary, iconic, diva and superstar are often thrown around without thinking, but Tina Turner embodies all of these words and more – an incredible artist, musician and trailblazer. To me, she will always be a fighter and an inspiration to women around the world. Her music will continue to inspire generations to come. Rest in peace, Queen.’
She also shared a photo together.
“God bless you, Tina, the queen of rock and soul, a close friend of our family. Love and prayers to all her family, friends and loved ones,” guitarist Ronnie Wood said.
“We loved Tina Turner. Goddess, Artist, Wonder Woman! We will miss him terribly!!!” wrote Martha Stewart on Instagram and published a joint photo, from which it is clear that she and Tina were close to each other and were not afraid of any fun.

Former US President Bill Clinton also published the official statement on social networks. “I loved Tina Turner and will never forget meeting her when she came to Little Rock for a concert after the release of Private Dancer in 1984. We met again at her 67th birthday party in St. Petersburg, where they sang together with Elton John for a charity event. She still had it all – talent, style, energy and authenticity – an indispensable gift to music lovers around the world. May he rest in peace.”
