Tinkoff-Bank will create the Tinkoff Merchant Solution business line, one of the tasks of which will be to assist entrepreneurs in entering marketplaces and scaling up their business on the Internet, the Vedomosti newspaper reports, citing a company representative. The new business will be led by Ilya Kretov, who previously served as eBay’s CEO for Global Emerging Markets. EBay told Vedomosti that Mr. Kretov resigned on 15 October.

Tinkoff Merchant Solution will combine services for merchants, including products from Tinkoff Business, Tinkoff Cashier and Tinkoff Targeta. The bank plans to create an ecosystem that will allow developing sales both through marketplaces and in social networks and online stores.

As Kommersant previously reported, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in February approved the decision to empower the Russian Post to distribute subsidies that will be allocated from the budget to support exports from Russian marketplaces. For these purposes, it is planned to allocate a total of 1.5 billion rubles. for three years. In June, the ministry presented a draft document that describes the subsidy mechanism.
