The festival, which began on the 13th of this month, drew in a large number of devotees, with the main event of Surasamharam taking place a few days ago on the beach.

The Thirukalyanam Vaipavam ceremony, which marks the seventh festival of Ganda Sashti, commenced with a procession at 3:00 in the morning, followed by the Vishwarupa Deeparathan at 3:30 am. The Udayamarthanda Abhishekam and Deeparathan took place at 4:00 am, continuing the day’s festivities.

In the evening, Deivanai Amman engaged in tapas and joined the Muruga Mutt near Theppakulam, while Swami Kumaravidangaperuman took part in Tanichapparam in Mappillai Kolam and presented a scene to Deivanai Amman.

Later in the evening, the Swami-Amman tholmala exchange ceremony was held at the South Rathaveedi- Melerathaveedi junction. The Goddess crawled over Swami three times, after which the shoulder garland was changed and Deeparathan was conducted for Swami Amman. The event witnessed a large turnout of devotees, who later accompanied Swami Amman for a Veedhi procession.

At midnight, the Thirukalyana Vaipavam for Swami and Amman was held at the Thirukalyana Mandapam at the Rajagopura gate, drawing in a large number of participants.

Devotees had the opportunity to take part in writing moi and receiving prasad as part of the Thirukalyanam celebrations, with the arrangements for the event being overseen by Temple Joint Commissioner Karthik, Board of Trustees Chairman Arul Murugan, and the temple staff.

The exchange ceremony and related events at the Subramania Swamy Temple offered devotees an opportunity to come together in celebration and worship, strengthening the local community’s devotion and sense of cultural traditions.
