The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has announced that the Tirupati Eyumalayan Temple will be closed at 7:05 pm tomorrow (Oct 28) in view of the lunar eclipse. This decision was made in accordance with the temple’s tradition of closing during lunar and solar eclipses.

According to the Vaikanasa Agama rule, the temple will remain closed until the completion of the eclipse. Once the eclipse is over, the temple will be opened after the priests put on fresh clothes and offer prayers to the seven mountains.

A partial lunar eclipse is scheduled to take place on October 29 between 1:05 am and 2:22 am. As a result, the temple will be closed on October 28th at 7:05 pm.

Following the eclipse, the temple doors will be opened at 3:15 am on October 29th at Ekandham after the performance of Chuddhi and Subrabada service.

In light of the lunar eclipse, certain services at the temple have been canceled. The Sahasra Deepalankar Service, PWD, and Senior Citizen Service will not be held due to the celestial event.

This closure is a part of the temple’s commitment to upholding traditional customs and respecting the significance of celestial occurrences. Devotees are advised to plan their visit accordingly and seek darshan after the temple reopens following the eclipse.

In the meantime, officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam are taking various measures to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims during the eclipse period. Proper arrangements have been made to facilitate the smooth closure and reopening of the temple.

The Tirupati Eyumalayan Temple is one of the most revered religious institutions in the region, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country. It is renowned for its architectural beauty and religious significance. The closure during the lunar eclipse adds to the temple’s mystique and devout atmosphere.

As the lunar eclipse approaches, devotees eagerly await the reopening of the temple to resume their spiritual practices and seek blessings. The temple management encourages everyone to observe the eclipse from a safe location and refrain from any rituals or activities that go against traditional beliefs.

This closure serves as a reminder of the eternal bond between humanity and the celestial realms, emphasizing the importance of surrendering to the cosmic forces that govern our existence.
