Tirupur: Tirupur District Collector, District Superintendent and Deputy Commissioner of Police have jointly said that they should not spread rumors about the expulsion of northern workers from Tirupur.

District Collector of Tirupur S.Vineeth, District Superintendent of Police Sasang Sai and Municipal Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta jointly told reporters at Tirupur District Collector’s office today that: “For the past few days, North State workers are leaving Tirupur due to threats and they are being threatened on WhatsApp and 3 videos are circulating on other social media. In this video, 15 cases have been registered in Velampalayam police station under various sections and 2 people have been arrested.

None of the other 2 videos happened in Tirupur district. These are being falsely portrayed. This is rumour. They are being surveyed and action is being taken. Don’t believe anyone. A committee headed by the Additional District Superintendent of Police and the District Revenue Officer is being formed and is being monitored to inform the workers of the northern state if there is any harm.

Similarly, a separate unit under the leadership of an Additional Superintendent has been started in the office of the District Superintendent of Police. There will be representatives of northern state workers who know 5 languages.

For this purpose, the people of North India can contact the 24-hour phone numbers 9498101320 and 0421-2970017. All states are working here with proper security. Adequate security is being provided to them.

No one should believe the videos that are being spread by the North State workers. Through police inspectors, they are visiting Banyan institutions in their respective areas and creating awareness. Tirupur, which makes Vandar live, remains safe for people from all walks of life. It will continue to be protected,” they said.
