The price of yarn, the main raw material for the Kata textile industry, which is produced by looms, is rising sharply. This has severely affected the textile industry. Powerloom textile manufacturers have been protesting for 15 consecutive days from May 22 to June 5, condemning the rise in yarn prices and demanding price controls.

More than 2 lakh generators in Tiruppur, Coimbatore and other districts were out of order due to the strike. As a result, more than 5 lakh workers are out of work. Workers are also unable to go to another job.
