Editor: Thank you for joining us today, Mayor Osorio. you’ve recently requested an 11% increase to Tlalpan’s budget for 2025, aiming for a total of 3,452 million pesos. Can you elaborate on the key areas that require this additional funding?
Gaby Osorio: Thank you for having me. The main areas of focus for this additional budget include important investments in hydraulic works. Tlalpan is the mayor’s office that rents the most water pipes in the city, currently managing 330.Addressing our water infrastructure is crucial for ensuring enduring advancement and improving living conditions for our residents.

Gaby Osorio: Absolutely. Security is a top concern for us. Currently, we have only ten patrols dedicated to the largest mayor’s office in territorial terms, while 24 patrols are not operational. We urgently need to enhance our capabilities with the acquisition of new patrol vehicles and advanced surveillance technology to better protect our community and respond to incidents effectively.
Editor: You’ve also highlighted issuance of complaints regarding incomplete projects from the previous administration alongside allegations of extortion among officials. How do you plan to address these critical issues?
Gaby Osorio: We take these allegations very seriously. We have reported 12 works that were fully paid for under the prior administration but remain incomplete.furthermore, we have substantial evidence of an extortion network operating within the former administration, where officials from the legal department sought bribes from local business operators. We have already filed complaints with the prosecutor’s Office, and we are committed to ensuring accountability and transparency.

We aim to promote local businesses by ensuring that they are not burdened by illegal demands. Our commitment to transparency and accountability in governance encourages investment and helps create a more prosperous Tlalpan for everyone.

It’s essential to foster community solidarity and support one another. Additionally, I invite them to participate in public forums and discussions as we finalize our budget plans for 2025 – their voices matter greatly in shaping the future of our municipality.
