The Tlalpan mayor’s office carried out a forest review operation on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway, in coordination with the Ministry of the Environment (SEDEMA) and the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), in order to protect the conservation land and combat illegal transportation of wood and other forest products.
During this operation, more than 100 vehicles were inspected, including trailers, vans and cargo trucks. In addition, a tractor-trailer was detected transporting sawn pine wood with expired and off-route documentation, which was secured and moved along with the vehicle to the facilities. designated by the competent authorities.

Other environmental protection actions
The Environmental Directorate of the Mayor’s Office of Xochimilco, in coordination with the Environmental Directorate of Tlalpan and with the presence of the Commissioner of Topilejo, carried out the cleaning of the channel located in Pedregal de San Francisco, on the limits of both demarcations.
In this action, eight tons of solid waste contained in 200 sacks, tires, armchairs and a refrigerator were removed, a result that will generate important benefits for the care of the environment of the conservation land.
In other operations instructed by the mayor, Gaby Osorio, the Directorate of Citizen Security, in coordination with the JUD of Environmental Surveillance, arrested a male person who, using an electric saw, felled a tree on a property in the town of San Miguel Topilejo, so he made himself available to the Territorial Coordination of TLP 3 to determine his legal situation.

Similarly, through an anonymous complaint, a telephone request for the felling of two trees on Ahuacatitla Street, located in the town of San Miguel Topilejo, was attended to, where elements of Citizen Security arrested an individual who was carrying out its felling in Conservation Land.
Likewise, a warning tarp was placed over the construction at the same point, to prevent invasion and deforestation of the conservation land.
To these measures were added the pruning of trees in various areas of the Tlalpan mayor’s office, as well as the removal of plant trash.
These coordinated operations seek to stop illegal activities and guarantee the responsible use of natural resources, protect the natural areas of the demarcation and reinforce security in conservation land areas.
