Amid heavy rains in the district, 28 children and 16 adults were evicted from a childcare center in the Tlalpan mayor’s officedue to a fire outbreak caused by a lightning strike.
Two injured people were treated at the scene, who suffered a nervous breakdown and one with first-degree burns, the mayor’s office reported after activating Operation Lightning due to the damage caused by the rains.

Among the effects in the demarcation, a flood was reported on Calzada de Tlalpan and Hermenegildo Galeana, in the colony Tlalpan Center.
There was also a record of flood on Cypress Street, Ejidos de San Pedro Martir neighborhood, and on Tlalpan Causeway, between Morelos and Galeana.
As part of the operation, reports of flooding in Puente de San Pedro Mártir, Insurgentes Sur at the height of Metrobús La Joya 8 and Colonia Mesa los Hornos were also attended to.

The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection has issued a red alert due to persistent heavy rain and hail in the Tlalpan municipality. This is because the district is expected to experience between 50 and 70 millimeters of rain between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, the agency reported.
Due to the heavy rainfall, the Metrobús was affected by service delays at all stations on the Line, reported the public transportation system of Mexico City.
