TMB has launched a new application, TMB App, which integrates sustainable mobility options, improves the design, the user experience and extensive information on the status of the service, among other new features.

The application now offers information on all public transport operators in Barcelona and the metropolitan area. In this way, it expands the various ways to access through maps, search engines, lists or the possibility of saving and managing in the favorites part. The application incorporates consultation services for traveling in a multimodal way, with the possibility of exploring the possibilities by routes on foot, by private bicycle or by combining bus and metro routes with shared mobility services. In addition, work is being done to expand the public transport offer and solutions will be progressively added throughout the Integrated Transport area of Barcelona.
As for the information on the status of the service, it appears in a more organized and practical way, with the offer in real time and notices of alterations. The application menu has also evolved and goes from a list format to a panel format that offers useful information according to the subscriptions used by the user and to see the most frequently used functionalities. The application also incorporates a DD Tag reader, to quickly access relevant information about TMB stops and stations, schedules, waiting time and other services available in each case, by scanning codes at stops and stations.
The section dedicated to T-mobility functionalities will also show new features, with a simplification and reordering of the information displayed, updated to the needs of this contactless technology. Likewise, the experience is improved, accessing the reading and recharging of cards in a simple and fast way with payments allowed via GPay or Apple Pay, which will be available soon.
The design has also been updated to make it easier to understand, use and access information, as well as being scalable in the inclusion of new functionalities and services. The new application incorporates various communication elements, such as a panel that will allow you to view current campaigns and notices, as well as a space dedicated to the most relevant events on the TMB Noticias website. However, the user experience will clearly improve.
Start up
Since December 4, voluntary access has been offered so that users can try it, which must be the definitive version of an application that was released for the first time in 2012. Since that date, a space has been enabled on the web to promote downloading. to users who wish to offer the possibility of replacing the TMB App they have installed with the new version. Coexistence with the current version will extend over a few months until during the first quarter of 2024 all users will have the new version.
