Baghdad – WAA
Director of the Rumaila Field Operating Authority affiliated with the Ministry of Oil, Imad Hassan, revealed today, Thursday, the most important projects completed in the oil fields to ensure the sustainability of production in recent years.

Hassan said in a statement received by the (INA): “There are important projects that have been completed during the past three years to ensure the sustainability of production and increase it. Among these projects are the installation of well heads and flow pipes, as more than 183 well heads have been installed in addition to extending 183 flow pipes with a length of 650 kilometers,” adding that “a large group of well complexes have been installed that are concerned with collecting flow pipes, as well as extending main (Sinx Line) pipes from those complexes to the isolation stations.”
Hassan explained that “well complexes are of two types: field well complexes and well complexes in isolation stations. There is another project, which is extending flexible pipes, which reach nine pipes with a length of 60 kilometers. These pipes have contributed to providing flexibility in transporting oil and avoiding stopping the isolation banks in cases that he described as emergency, including planned maintenance times, in addition to creating flexibility to improve the quality of oil in terms of the possibility of transporting oil between the isolation banks and stations.”
He pointed out, “The completion of another important project in the oil sector, represented by three-phase insulators, where the importance of the project lies in replacing the two-phase first-stage insulators with three-phase insulators, which in turn provided a high potential for the isolation banks to accommodate quantities of oil with a high water intersection, as it was previously limited to 20% in the presence of these facilities, and the potential increased to 60%, and the isolation stations are currently capable of accommodating and receiving quantities of oil if the high water intersection reaches 80%, where 60% is separated through these facilities, while the other 20% is separated in the wet oil treatment units that are connected to these facilities.”
Hassan continued, “This project was installed in four main stations: the central isolation station, in addition to the southern isolation station, as well as the Shamiya and Qurainat stations,” adding, “The project was launched in the third isolation station, and this project (which includes the first and second stage isolators) contributed to relieving the bottleneck and lifting the limitation in the station, which was limited to 20%, and there was a reduced production capacity estimated at 25 thousand barrels per day; due to the presence of a limitation in receiving oil with a high water section. After the facility was introduced, these wells were opened and the production capacity was opened and received thanks to these facilities, which increased the station’s capacity from 20% to 80%.”
He added, “There are also other projects that have been completed, including four new tanks, two of which are in South Rumaila, the South Isolation Station, and Mishrif Al-Qurainat,” noting that “work is underway on the (DS2) and (DS4) stations.”
