To fill Bauta with color

If I say art, perhaps the reader imagines a gallery, a museum, Van Gogh or Da Vinci; However, there is an art that transcends the usual space and reaches everyone, or at least that is how Adrián Infante, artist and sculptor from Bautense, and head of the local development project (PDL) perceives it. Color drinkalready with two years of existence.

“Art must be for the people, be available to everyone. We have taken care of the rehabilitation of the municipal parks, as well as their entrances. We also work in the provincial capital”.

“Bauta Color was born within another project called Guerrero, a work group made up of artisans and artists, who were mainly dedicated to projects of cultural revival and artistic setting of closed or public spaces.

“As PDL, it led us to broaden our spectrum of work, we wanted to include the rescue of some of the works carried out previously and take on new challenges that artisans and artists had at hand, with a different aesthetic. In this way, these spaces are becoming part of the identity of each town where we work”.

In their second anniversary, they have transcended the space of the local, reaching several municipalities in the province, even Matanzas.

“When doing an analysis, we have achieved our objective; We have saved different works, from theme parks to heritage buildings, throughout the length and breadth of the province, says Infante.

“Today we find ourselves in a rather difficult task: the renovation of the recreational areas of the El Lago Motel, an extremely ambitious project, divided into several stages so that the Bautense facility works normally.

“For the future we will be dedicated to the rescue of the Bauta cinema and the theater. In the case of the first, a true symbol, it would be a recreational cultural complex: with its piano-bar, cafeteria and spaces for artisans. The second, also an emblematic institution of our municipality, we must begin work this year”.

With a total of 12 members, the PDL has also had an impact on neighborhoods in transformation, helping families with financial problems.

Although it is not their primary objective, they produce their own materials. “We have a production center at our headquarters and everything necessary for the work we carry out comes from there; In addition, we support the housing plans of the municipality”.

“We manufacture the paints and market them; We plan to expand and add the gastronomy and recreation service, as we are linked to the film project ”, he concluded.

Local development must be the way, encouraging this type of project is one of the fundamental objectives of the Bautense authorities. Along with Bauta Color, another six are a reality.

Bauta commitment to local development

“A local development project (PDL) is a set of resources, efforts and actions that have the purpose of transforming an existing situation into a desired one, which contributes to the development of the municipalities, communities where it operates, and impacts on the quality of life. of the population”, declared Luis Domínguez Gea, head of the Department of Development Management (DGD), of the Municipal Administration.

The town currently has eight development projects that have contributed 3,147,207 pesos to the local budget.

Among these, one is in the pool of collaboration opportunities. This is X.PROJEC.CU, an irrigation system using solar panels to achieve a productive increase in rice crops.

The others are For our environment, in the environmental sociocultural category; and De mares, Pompas de frutas y vegetales, Finca 3D, Reservoir system for freshwater fish farming and Motel El Lago, which are economic-productive.

“At the moment, the aforementioned department is processing another three PDLs for approval in subsequent months: one referring to a mini-industry of fruits and vegetables; another to establish the sanitary ware of the municipality and another of the integrated closed-cycle aquaculture farm ”, he specified.

Ariel Santana Borrego, president of the permanent commission for agri-food and productive activity of the Assembly of People’s Power, specified that these projects can govern the path towards local autonomy.

“I believe that there are indisputable strengths. Seeing closely how the projects are developed and how many plans their founders have causes amazement, but one must not forget how essential it is to have the necessary resources to execute each phase”.

It will be necessary to return again and again, there are still edges to venture into, but tangible results of how much the projects can do for the community are already palpable. To all the efforts of Bauta Color, I could also add the donations made by De Mares to the home for homeless children, to the maternity home, to the grandparents’ house, or his disposal by taking charge of the monthly medical diet of fish for free 17 children from the municipality.

There are plenty of examples of the relevance of these projects and their impact on the localities. Bauta today flourishes a little more thanks also to the commitment of its members and the government’s willingness to put resources into undertakings that are later translated into development for the locality, by generating jobs, providing services, and producing food.
