OUR LADY OF CAMPIGLIO. Last weekend, given the high influx of tourists in the mountain resorts of Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio, the Carabinieri of the Alpine Rescue Team of Madonna di Campiglio they decided to intensify the surveillance services on the main mountain paths of the area, carrying out numerous foot patrols. The aim of the service was, on the one hand, to control the major refuges present in the area (Stoppani, Viviani, Boch and Pradalago refuge), so as to prevent any theft of equipment and personal effects of tourists who were having lunch or sunbathing and, on the other hand, to provide information on the danger and length of the various routes as well as verify compliance with the various national and provincial laws that regulate hiking activities, so as to ensure that all tourists can walk safely along the Alpine paths.
Well, at a certain point, the Carabinieri of the Alpine Rescue of Madonna di Campiglio, arrived near the Tuckett refuge located at 2300 meters above sea level, they noticed the arrival of tking hikers That They were riding their bicycles at a fast pace along trail no. 316, even though this is prohibited by law and clearly indicated by specific vertical signs. Moreover, in this case, the ban was motivated precisely by the danger of the path which in some sections has an extremely steep and slippery surface.
So the three boys were stopped and identified, admitting that they were unaware of the ban on using bicycles to travel along mountain paths. Nevertheless, the three, having violated art. 22 of the law of the Autonomous Province of Trento n. 8/1993, which prohibits the circulation with the aid of mechanical means (which includes a bicycle) on all Alpine trails and other mountain paths, except those where it is expressly permitted, will have to pay a fine of 60 euros each. Given the continuation of the cargo season, these checks will continue in the coming weeks.
