Tobacco: a new price increase from January

Smokers are expected to be hit again next year. After having jumped by more than 8 to 11 euros in less than five years, the price of a pack of cigarettes will increase again in January – by around 40 to 50 cents.

The government, which is due to present its new anti-tobacco strategy this Tuesday, certainly promised in September not to increase taxes on tobacco in 2024.
